Chapter 2
A day, two days after he did his duty, Emperor sent a messenger for Maria. A messenger said "Mrs. Maria, Emperor invites you in tonight." Verze answered "Excuse me, she declines this invitation because she was sick."
A messenger said "Did She intent to decline Emperor's inviting? " He said "Because her sickness, she can't go to his bedroom."
A messenger said "She intended to decline Emperor's invitation." He answered "She can't go his bedroom because her condition was very bad."
A messenger said "If you say so, I want to see her." He roared at him roughly "Don't I know menstrual irregularity ?"
A messenger lost his voice. He said calmly "… I will explain the Emperor to this reasons. You have only to tell the Emperor it." A messenger returned.
"Why did you tell a lie ?" Maria asked him. "I am ordered to guard you by Prince Jullian. I defend you from all of crisis and enemy. If enemy is the Emperor, I defend you from."
After he said so, he went to the palace. The Emperor, Dopper Jully Faithun, looked cross when he listened Verze's report.
He asked Verze calmly "you think, when will she recover?" Verze answered "If her living environment doesn't improve, her condition doesn't improve forever."
When Verze said so, The Emperor got angry, "Don't talk wild! Do you want to say she faces death because her sick?" Verze answered "She bears you because you wounded her parents and her family's servants when you took her along. Perhaps, she don't obey your orders."
The Emperor said "I have nothing to do with because a governor do it without my permission." Verze said "A man who desired target her was you. A governor was your follower. Because these reason, she think you have all responsibility for a governor's failure."
The Emperor was surprised for his answer. The Emperor asked him "Tell me a way to get her." Verze answered "I'm sorry, I don't know a way for you to get her confidence. But you ought to make her understand about your love and your force by ways that you present many expensive Jewels, clothes, and house to her. If you do it, she understand her position."
Verse said "She will obey you so that she survive." The Emperor made Verze with draw from his in good humor.
After meeting with the Emperor, Verze went to a room in a palace.
"Prince Jullian."
"Verze, please come here." Verze went into his room.
"Verze " Jullian asked him "Please describe about Maria" Verze answered "She have difficulty for her comb lost. Please send her a good comb."
Jullian asked him "What comb does she like?" Verze answered "She like simple comb. She doesn't like gorgeous things."
Jullian said "I followed your advice. I send her a polished comb."
By his advice, the Emperor sent her some jewels, silk dresses, a carving and so many expensive things. By his advice, Prince Jullian sent her her necessary things. She have a distrust of the Emperor's authority and impression for Jullian's kindness.
